Okay, first of all, joining an army is NOT compulsory, it’s simply an extension of the RPG you might like to join if your character is something of a warrior. Each town has a group where you can learn to fight, and each town specialises in a different form of fighting.
If you play a nymph and you want to join the nymphs' army, you just post saying you want to join and the Commander has to accept you (unless they see some external reason as to why you shouldn’t.). However, while if you are an elf who wants to join the nymphs' army you are free to request that you might do so, the Commander of the nymph’s army has every right to refuse you. This same rule applies for all races and armies.
Every town has a Commander, a General, and a Captain of their army, and soldiers that demonstrate excellence in battle may also be handed out titles such as Lieutenants or Knighthoods. Within the main body of each force there are also different ranks.
The armies are in some ways a separate force from the main RPG; while there are the obvious links with the rest of the site, there are some areas which only members of the army may access.
For more information on the armies, you should see the individual boards for each town, or PM the Commander of the army you are interested in.
NOTE: Until Commanderes have been appointed for each army, I or the nobles of each town will deal with applications to join armies.
