Daitheria is a fantasy world in which there are many strange and wonderful places to be visited. This thread tells you a little more about the different towns, to help you decide which race to make your character, or where they would like to live. I will just stress that if your character is one race then they do NOT have to live in the corresponding town.
::Raenfir::
This city is huge, and forever busy. The capital of Daitheria, some claim that it has a slightly impersonal feel to it. However, there is plenty to see, plenty to do, and there are plenty of people to meet.
Set atop a hill, surrounded by vast plains, and with a fresh breeze forever blowing in from the distant sea, this town has a very open, refreshing feel to it. Raenfir is constructed for the most part of earth and stone, with wooden beams and areas with whitewashed walls decorating the buildings.
Red and gold are the colours of the Queen’s Court, and they represent the fire and vivacity which flow through the city. Loyalty, comradeship, and duty are the qualities around which the city’s rules have been created.
::Laliwyn::
The town of Laliwyn is very beautiful, and conveys a wonderfully calm atmosphere. Although again there are plenty of things to do and the Duke and Duchess have a much closer connection with their people, it is far quieter here than it is in any of the other towns.
Tucked into a dip in a giant forest, the natural world plays a large part in this town. The cool of the forest seeps into the town, and in a similar way the town seems to seep into the forest; the elves have long mined the forest for its diamonds, and they keep their tame unicorns in stables just inside the forest. All of the buildings are built from a pearly white stone, but alongside this, there is not a street on which there are no trees, plants, or flowers.
The Duke and Duchess’s colours are deep blue and silver, representing the peaceful grace of the town. Beauty, kindness, and wisdom are the qualities around which the town’s rules have been created.
::Lorwynne::
The town of Lorwynne heaves with life. There is not a minute of the day when there is not some party or festival going on. Drink and gold are plentiful, and the people are extremely open and friendly.
Surrounded by a whole range of geographical features, there are all sorts of outdoorsy activities to do here. The Rocky Hills to the east, which run into the Mountains of Daindenhan, are an interesting terrain to explore, and the geysers are magnificent to behold. The actual town is very simply constructed, with no magnificent architecture or the like; it is the people that make the town.
The colours of the Count and Countess’s Court are white and bronze, representative of the lightheartedness of the town, and the town’s riches. Freedom, adventure, and wealth are the qualities around which this town’s rules have been created.
::Southglass::
This picturesque town was built in a highly jumbled fashion. The streets wind up and down the hillside, and everything there is old. People here are polite enough, although most seem to be bustling along entirely wrapped up in their own thoughts. Business here is good, but it was here where rebellion against the monarchy grew fastest; the people of Southglass tend to be very clever, and very restless, and any form of oppression is disliked. The regime of the former Lord and Lady of Southglass was very restrictive, and greatly disliked. Still, recently matters here have improved, despite the slight aura of distrust that the town can’t quite seem to shake off.
The area surrounding the town is very hilly, with the Mountains of Daidenhan being just to the south. The buildings are all built of oddly shaped, oddly sized grey stone slabs, giving the town a quaint look, and there are many trees and small parks scattered throughout this town.
The Lord and Lady’s colours of Court are yellow and black, representing the adventurous, enthusiastic, and intelligent people of the town. Intellect, cunning, and a readiness to try new things are the qualities around which the rules of this town have been made.
::The Wilderplaces::
These are the uninhabited regions of Daitheria. Characters are free to travel around these parts, although it can be dangerous.
