Name: Jack Sadler
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Status: Middle Class
Affiliation: Fealty to the Monarch (in principle)
Appearance: Boyish good looks, slightly long messy brown hair and a smile that could charm anyone and everyone. He stands at just below six foot, with average build although his stance was not meant for power but more for agility. (For clothes etc. see avatar/signature- pictures speak 1000 words and all, and I'm a bit lazy )
Personality: Every inch the lovable rouge, never passes up a chance to play hero, even if this means putting himself or others in danger. Sometimes he puts himself on the wrong side of the law, but mainly it is only petty crimes and in his mind they are for a good cause. Can be perfectly charming when we wants to be, especially when he reckons it will help him get his own way. His cheeky side can make him appear to be disrespectful to his betters, and this way he makes enemies of those in higher classes than himself.
Strengths: His charm, wit and d**n sheer luck. He has a good seat on a horse, and is naturally an excellent archer. Obviously he has good arm strength, so wielding a sword isn't a problem- but he lacks the skill and control he has over the bow.
Weaknesses: His recklessness, irresponsibility, wildness, unruly behavior and thoughtlessness ofter gets him into trouble. With women, he finds it hard to resist a damsel in distress, as it allows his more gallant and chivalrous side a chance to shine. (The attention from said lady doesn't go amiss either However, he also secretly admires strong-willed, more defiant women, and considers them as more of a challenge)
Magic: N/A
Weaponry Skills: Jack carries a sword, a small knife in his boot and his beloved bow and arrow which is his preferred weapon. His aim is second to none.
Character History: As adventurous as always, Jack left home as soon as he could to explore as much of Daitheria as possible. His father had been a noble, but lost most of money and land due to gambling. When his father died, Jack stayed at home with his both his mother and sister. They lived in a small manor on the edge of a town, and when Jack's father died, so did the family's class as he was killed in a duel over The Sadler's family's titles and land. Perhaps if Jack's father hadn't consumed half a keg of ale the night before his duel, the outcome would have been different...
Jack got on well with the others from his town. His careful flattery of the elder woman earned him their admiration and they were forever saving him pieces of cake and ready to partake in playful banter with him. The other boys his age were either envious of him or wanting to be his friends and he had many admirers from girls his own age.
Still, when he turned 18 he made the decision to leave home and travel to >Insert name of human city here <.
Sample RP: Taken from erivale.proboards74.com (some shameless advertising there ) I posted a few bits cos they were all kinda short, but they're all from the same character.
Finn stood stunned as Scarlet opened the door so suddenly. He hadn't prepared what he was going to say, so stood wide-eyed staring at her, promptly removing his hand which was still held up in preparation to knock level with her face.
"I..er, I saw you last night," he began to explain "And you looked...well, you seemed..." he faltered and came to a standstill. She didn't look anything like she had done last night.
"I thought I'd check you were alright..." he finished feebly. As she closed the door he noticed the scratches on her hands- it was definitely the same girl.
Indiscreetly he looked her up and down. Finn had never seen an elf this close up before and he had to admit, she didn't live up to the wild rural myths he had heard; two of the stable lads didn't even believe in elves. He had been bought up with the exaggerated stories of magical elves of the forest, whose beauty enchanted anyone they come across and who literally sing food from trees. This girl was certainly attractive and graceful, but it was really only her ears that betrayed she as an elf. He wished the stable lads could have seen her.
Finn looked down at the door behind her, unable to look Scarlet directly in the eyes. He ran his hand through his hair- something he usually did when he felt uncomfortable- and waited for her to reply.

"A ball? I hadn't heard that ther--" Finn stopped mid-sentence after seeing the large creature that was sitting in the middle of the street. An emerald dragon- the size of a fully grown horse. Passers-by didn't really seem to bothered by its presence, Finn however stood rooted to the spot, his eyes so wide that a large thump on the back of his head could have dislodged them...
"Is that your dragon?" he asked Scarlet as she walked straight towards it. Dragons were another thing that had been part of the wild fables he grown up with. But looking at it, he guessed they hadn't been exaggerated.
"Well, maybe I'll see you at this ball then." he offered, before backing away from the dragon, trying to look less in awe than he actually was. He backed straight into a middle-aged man hurrying by and spun around to apologize, but the man had already past him, cursing and muttering under his breath.

Finn walked down to the lake in silence, his eyes watching the perfectly clear reflection of the moon in the inky black waters of the lake. As far as he could tell, the lake was completely deserted. Then again, it was late in the evening, and most people were at home- or at the ball. He walked down to the lakes edge and stood there, staring out at the dark grey outline of the castle which was now opposite him. One of the pinprick windows of light would be the ballroom, and he for one was glad that he was not there.
Something about the stillness of the lake enticed him, and before he really thought about what he was doing, he stripped off his shirt, dropped it close-by on the ground, then dived into the lake. As a boy, they had had a lake nearby the farm, and Finn and his brother had spent many summer afternoons diving in from the side, racing across the lake or seeing how long they could hold their breath for.
Unfortunately, Finn's spur of the moment decision hadn't prepared him for just how cold the water was. He burst up to the surface with a gasp as the impact of the icy water hit him like a punch in the stomach.
Oh well he thought, treading water and making sure his clothes were safely piled beside the lake, I'm in now with that he duck-dived under the water and swum out into the centre of the lake.
